Upper Denture Would not Hold on the Implant Supported Gold Bar
Diagnosis
The new denture was fabricated with Swiss Lock or Lew attachments, which work like small pistons that fit into holes in the bar. The metal cannot be seen when the denture is in the mouth.
The plungers are open with the fingernail and removed from the mouth.
The denture and the mouth and bar can be cleaned. Then the denture is placed back in the mouth and the plungers activated. The denture cannot be removed.
Future Treatment
The plungers can be replaced when they wear. The denture teeth life expectancy is 5 years. The bar and metal reinforcement life expectancy is 10 years. We do not know the life expectancy of the implants.
